OVERVIEW
Three events in one:
- The Business of Careers: A dialogue between (a) professionals responsible for recruiting and selecting people for state careers and (b) professionals responsible for placing people with disabilities into careers.
- Medical Ethics: An exploration of how the art, science and business of medicine shapes social policy (and career opportunities) for people with disabilities.
- Individual Career Advancement: A ‘how to' on leveraging your disability experience (or a family member's or a client's) to maximize career options via optimizing health and wellness, managing state insurance and support services, and networking the three disability inner circles.

. All participants are asked to bring at least a dozen current business cards.
Room will be divided into small pods (6-8per) with a sampling of reps from the Looking In, Looking Out, and Looking Both Ways professionals. Each pod will address two questions:
Whatever hat you wear, what do you need to know so you can help increase the number of people with disabilities working for the state?
What policy, procedure, or resource changes would you make to increase the number of people with disabilities working for the state?
(8 minutes to organize; 10 minutes to work; 12 minutes to report out)

Jeremy Stephens & Lou Adams will each offer their take on the morning's lessons learned, and offer suggestions for areas worth further attention.

Candice Lee will explore the power of focusing on health beyond disability, and the cultural pressures not to.
1:55 – 2:40 The Three Disability Networks
Duncan Wyeth, Disability Commission Director, will chair a panel of seasoned employees on options for using the three interconnected disability social networks.
2:40 - 3:05 Leveraging Insurance and Related Resources
David Ware, ESP will share a different approach to using Insurance and related resources as Career management tools.
3:05 – 3:20 Playing the Diversity Card
A special explanation on how to use your experience with disability to enhance workplace diversity (you don't have to be an advocate to be an asset).
